Concerts – NPR Music
After my post last night regarding the extensive collection of live music offered by NPR via podcasts at iTunes, I found an even larger collection of live recordings at the NPR website.
The main concert page is a great place to land and explore, but if you want the complete archive of concert and song recordings, this is the place. There are 643 clips and concerts from November 6, 2007 to the present – note that a few of the links are broken and the recordings could not be found.
You may click from webpage to webpage looking through this large listing, but the best way to view these items is to add http://www.npr.org/rss/rss.php?id=1109 to your favorite RSS reader – be sure to click or select to “display older entries” to see all 643 items.
If you are not familiar with RSS readers, I like Newsgator’s apps and Google Reader, but there are numerous excellent offerings for Macs and PCs. Both Newsgator and Google Reader can be used via web browsers.
I’ve gone through the list and selected some concerts and clips which I found noteworthy:

- Jakob Dylan At The Newport Folk Festival – August 2, 2008 – 53 mins, 23 secs
- Lou Reed in Concert – May 6, 2008 – 1 hour, 32 mins, 47 secs
- The B-52s, Recorded Live in Concert – April 25, 2008 – 42 mins, 26 secs
- Tokyo Police Club Goes Acoustic for SXSW – March 15, 2008 – 3 mins, 19 secs
