Ray Kurzweil: Transcendent Man
Transcendent Man – Official Website
“Does God exist? Well, I would say, ‘Not yet.” —Ray Kurzweil, Transcendent Man, 2009
The above quote, from the new movie about futurist and inventor Ray Kurzweil, was sourced via Singularity Hub, an informative site on all things Singularity. Aaron Saenz’s review of the movie at the previous link is one of the most thorough on the web, in my opinion.
It’s not every documentary that predicts humanity will someday create and become God. Transcendent Man says it will happen in the next twenty years. A bold statement for a movie about a bold man. Barry Ptolemy’s Transcendent Man is a biopic of famed inventor, writer, and futurist Ray Kurzweil. Kurzweil is author of The Singularity is Near, a best-selling book describing humanity’s journey to becoming non-biological life. (Book reference link added by me.)
More information and reviews regarding Transcendent Man and Kurzweil may be found at the official movie site. If you want to be notified when Transcendent Man will screen in a theater near you, just complete the short form found at the movie’s site.
I’m looking forward to this one.
